The "16th Seminar on Cross-Straits and Hong Kong - Macao Economic and Trading Cooperation", organized by The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Macao Chamber of Commerce, was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on June 6, 2025. The symposium, themed "Promoting the Digital Economy and Co-Creating a New Win-Win Situation," focused on the close cooperation between the Cross-Straits and the Hong Kong and Macao regions, and jointly explored opportunities under the digital economy.
This event invited the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Gao Yunlong, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Yin Zonghua, the President of The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, None, the President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Wang Mingxiang, and the President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Chui Sai Cheong, to attend and serve as guest speakers.
Seminar features a keynote speech, exchange lunch, and two special discussions, inviting 13 prominent leaders from the business and political sectors, technology experts, and scholars from four locations across the Taiwan Strait to speak and exchange ideas. Dr. Angus W.H. Cheong, founder and president of Macau eRS Information Technology Company, was invited to attend the special discussion on "Trends and Opportunities in the Development of the Digital Economy," and together with Xu Li, vice chairman of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce and chairman and CEO of Shanghai SenseTime Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Guo Yike, provost of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Yang Yongming, chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Taiwan Federation of Industries and part-time professor at the Department of Political Science at National Taiwan University, they analyzed the advantages of different regions in the field of the digital economy and discussed the new opportunities and challenges brought by "digital industrialization" and "industrial digitalization.
